SPACE2IDGO members invite European SMEs to participate to a mission in Dubaï, dedicated to Space Applications applied for agriculture, mobility, energy and logistics. It will be possible also to participate for one day to the GITEX Technology Week in Dubai, a big event on the use and impact of technologies in many economic sectors. The event will showcase ICT, IT, IoT and digital technologies and can be the right moment where European SMEs can meet relevant stakeholders.

The United Arab Emirates is recently encouraging foreign investments in space industry through the « National Plan for the Promotion of Space Investment ». The SPACE2IDGO mission will then be a unique opportunity to meet the relevant stakeholders to do business in the country. UAE developed a clear strategy for a new development phase based on smart solutions and innovations that, in their vision, will support the transition from an oil-based economy to an oil-free sustainable and green economy. They are cleverly investing the financial resources coming from oil in R&D&I activities, trying to attract new businesses in the country that they wish to become a world region flagship in innovation.

SME mission to Chile: NEW DATES!! January 21st – 24th 2020

SPACE2IDGO members invite European SMEs to participate to a mission in Chile dedicated to Space applications applied for Agriculture and Energy.

This fast-growing economy country has a high potential in Earth Observation and will host 70% of the worlwide astronomical infrastructures by 2020. Challenges faced in the energy and agriculture sectors are opened to welcome foreign investments.

SPACE2IDGO project consortium met for two days in Matera, Italy

The SPACE2IDGO consortium meeting hosted in the premises of Openet Technologies SPA in July 8th and 9th 2019, on behalf of TeRN Consortium, was the opportunity to promote one more time the project to SMEs.

Openet Technologies is an Italian SME promoting innovation through the use of space technologies to benefit to societal challenges such as education, entrepreneurship, telecommunication and training. In line with the scope of SPACE2IDGO project, Openet Technologies works for the international development in driving several projects in Africa.

These two days meeting was introduced by the President of TeRN, Antonio Colangelo who invited local SMEs to join the SPACE2IDGO project and welcomed the participants on behalf of Basilicata Region President, Vito Bardi who cannot join the meeting for other Institutional commitments.  It followed with a presentation of Openet Technologies SPA by the Chief Operating Officer, Filomena Cuccarese.

A consortium meeting reviewing the project workpackages and action to be implemented until end of December was undertaken.

The project partners warmly thank our host that allows us to drive a fruitful meeting at six months from its end.

This project has received funding from the European Union’s COSME programme (2014-2020).

Artificial Intelligence in Earth Observation

The AI4Copernicus Day 2019 will take place on 17 September 2019 in Bouge (Namur), Belgium.

The overall objective of AI4Copernicus Day is to gather international experts in order to set up a joint community linking both cutting-edge technologies. Come and discover the latest developments in AI for EO at international and local levels.

More than 25 talks are planned, covering the latest information on research, infrastructure, business, and funding.

Registration is free but compulsory. Please, do not delay in registering as space is strictly limited.

SME: Do you want to develop your business activity in Canada?

Space2IDGO members invite SMEs to participate to a mission in Canada (Ontario Region – Toronto / Ottawa) dedicated to Space applications applied for Mobility and Logistics.

It will be a unique opportunity to meet “state of the art” Canadian actors in Space downstream applications and in Logistics and to propose your European expertise to face with them challenges in Mobility and Logistics for North American Continent.

The mission is planned from the 28 to 29 of October 2019 in Toronto.

Doing Business in Colombia & Chile: the role of Intellectual Property

The Space2IDGO project and the Latin America IPR SME Helpdesk are organizing on the 5th of September a webinar on “Doing Business in Colombia and Chile, the Role of Intellectual Property”.

This Webinar will provide a comprehensive and updated picture on how EU SMEs may benefit from Intellectual Property Rights (IPRs) as intangible assets in Colombia and Chile.

Participants will learn:

– to turn those innovative ideas from their business such as creative designs, inventions and other actives into valuable business assets.

– to understand what is the situation of IP in Colombia and Chile, and what are the main differences in comparison with Europe.

Any queries that the EU companies might have during the session shall be answered by our IP experts during the training session.

SPACE2IDGO is in Chile for its exploratory trip

SPACE2IDGO is currently in Chile for its fact-finding mission with two clusters members of the project : AerospaceValley and Basque Energy Cluster .

With the support of Eurochile, SPACE2IDGO project organised three days of meetings in the sectors of space, energy and agriculture in order to discover Chilean opportunities in space applications economy.

As a whole 26 meetings have been organised from the 23rd of April until the 25th of April 2019.

A fruitful and thrilling exploratory trip that will help the clusters in developping their cooperations but also will serve the SMEs involved in the SPACE2IDGO programme to develop their business in Chile.
